Early Drop-Off Program 2025-2026
Ruffing offers an early drop-off option for students grades kindergarten – 5th grade on a first come, first served basis. Middle school students may continue to arrive early. For a fee, parents will be able to drop off students starting at 8:00 am. Our goal is to have an option for parents who need an earlier drop off time and to eliminate children being dropped off, unsupervised, before school starts. PARENTS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE FOR THIS PROGRAM AND THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS AVAILABLE WHICH WILL BE FILLED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. Here are the specifics:
- Registered students can be dropped off starting at 8:00 am at the main entrance
- A Ruffing staff member will supervise students in the gym
- Students should bring a book to read or school work to do in the morning – this is meant to be a quiet work time
- Due to safety concerns, we cannot allow students to be outside, unsupervised, in the morning before school
- Students will be released from the gym to their classes at 8:30 am
- The early drop-off fee will be $500 per child for the school year – no matter how many times you plan to drop off your child early
- The fee does not apply to middle schoolers. Students in 6th – 8th grades can continue to be dropped off early and can head upstairs to the middle school. Middle schoolers dropped off before 8:30 am should use the front main entrance (not the middle school entrance)
- Band members should continue to be dropped off at the main entrance in the morning
